Ways to visit
Come and see the incredible beam engine Prince Consort running under steam. Explore the museum at your own pace; meet the volunteers; experience The Great Stink exhibition and take part in family activities.

Steaming Days
- Steaming Days run 10am–4pm, except in November and December when doors close at 3pm.
- Prince Consort is scheduled to run under steam.
- A free vintage bus takes ticket holders from Abbey Wood to the museum door.
- Take our volunteer-run narrow-gauge RANG Railway (opens in a new tab) from the visitor entrance to the museum.
- Ness Café, Bexley Brewery bar, shop, children’s trail and craft activities.

Getting here
On Steaming Days and most special events, ticket holders can use the free vintage bus from Abbey Wood to the museum door. Take our volunteer-run narrow-gauge RANG Railway (opens in a new tab) from the visitor entrance to the museum. If you are driving, park in our visitor car park. Use the directions button below, or Bazalgette Way in a sat-nav.
