Book four hours of photography with the Beam Engine House all to yourself.
Your own session
A photography visit gives you the Beam Engine House on a day when we are closed to the public. You have four hours with the cast iron, the engines and the light, and unlike a tour or open day you can bring tripods, use flash and work with models.
- Tea and coffee are included.
- Best days to visit for photography are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
- A representative from Crossness will be on site throughout for safety and to explain the site rules.
Fees
A four-hour session costs £36 per person, with a £360 minimum charge.

Getting Here
There is no free vintage bus for photography visits. We confirm parking when we book you. Open a tab below for how you are travelling.
Abbey Wood Station is the closest station (Elizabeth Line, Southeastern and Thameslink).

Park in the visitor car park on Bazalgette Way, then walk in through the pedestrian entrance. Taxis can use What3words charmingly.cure.tone (opens in a new tab).

From Abbey Wood Station it is about a 40–45 minute walk, which is a long way with cameras and tripods. A taxi or the car park is easier.

We are within cycling distance of Woolwich, with Uber Boat, DLR and Elizabeth Line connections. The Thames Path is a pleasant ride along the river.
There is secure cycle parking on site, by the large pond next to the Thames Path.

Blue Badge bays sit beside the pedestrian gate in the visitor car park on Bazalgette Way. From there, a handrail path leads towards the railway when it is running.
